Marielle Joyce Bush

Marielle Joyce Bush passed away peacefully in her Sault Ste. Marie, MI home, Thursday, January 3, 2012. She was born on May 30, 1925 in Marine City , MI to the late John and Verneda (Buchler) Bridges. Marielle grew up in Marine City, MI. She graduated in 1943 from Marine City High School, studied chemistry at Michigan State University, and later married Wesley Bush of Port Huron on October 12, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan. They were happily married for 66 years. Marielle was the loving mother to five sons and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She played women's league hockey in the late 1960's and was a busy hockey mom. She attended many Laker Hockey games where she was involved with the Blue Liners. Marielle was also a member of the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Faith Lutheran Church , where she sang in the choir and enjoyed the quilting group. She was a caring foster parent to many babies and volunteered her time as a paraprofessional with the Sault Area Schools. She enjoyed watching the boats pass through the Sault Locks and travel along the St. Mary's river. Marielle loved the Great Lakes and visited many of Michigan 's State Parks and campsites. She was a member of the Good Sam's camping club, helped out at the Chippewa County Fair and enjoyed traveling, baking, sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles and tea parties with her granddaughters. Marielle is survived by her husband: Wesley Ellsworth Bush; her five children: Dave (Karen Behm) Bush of Issaquah, WA, Steve (Roxann) Bush of Moscow, ID, Gregg (Linda) Bush of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Brian (Donna) Bush of Dafter, MI, and Derek Bush of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; her 16 grandchildren: Margo Bush, Ryan Hidalgo, Lindsey Bush, Erika (Mat) Gaskill, Rebecca Bush, Kaitlin (Jon) Chibnall, Benjamin (Cheri) Bush, Naomi (Todd) Anderson, Mary (Jon) Oliphant, Josiah Bush, Hannah Bush, Jared Bush, Bethany Bush, Lydia Bush, Samuel Bush, and Emma Bush; and 8 great grandchildren: Natasha Bush, Matthew Bush, Rebecca Anderson, William Oliphant, Laura Bush, Sophia Bush, Rachel Anderson, and Gwendolyn Oliphant. She is also survived by her sister: Margaret (William) Danneels of Marine City, MI. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church with Reverend Barry Levine officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Marine City . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Faith Lutheran Church .
