Victoria E. Wolf

It is with heavy hearts and a sense of gladness that her family shares with all of you the news of the passing of Victoria (Johnson) Wolf, at War Memorial Hospital, on Friday September 2. Victoria passed peacefully. Her family stayed and prayed with her, as she completed her journey home to be with her husband. Emil went ahead to prepare for her in 1996. Victoria Elizabeth Johnson was born in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan on November 8, 1937 to Eugene and Martha Johnson who resided in Brimley Michigan. The family moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1947. Vicky graduated from Soo High in 1955. Vicky continued her studies at the "Soo" branch of Michigan Tech (LSSU today.) It is there she met Emil Wolf. They married in 1957. Emil's job took them to the Lansing area and Vicky graduated from Michigan State with a degree in Education. She was a very special "special education" teacher for most of her career. Victoria taught school in both Stockbridge and Alpena, Michigan. After her retirement she continued teaching as she tutored in Orange Beach, Alabama and at St. Mary's School in the Soo. She and her husband were hard workers and loved family most of all. We all remember this especially when we trim our Christmas tree and fondly think of the Christmas trees they grew and sold - while working full time - and the family time they shared with us at the Wolf family farm in Johannesburg and their cabin on Sugar Island. Victoria is survived by her sister Delores (Albert, deceased) Flowers and her loving nieces and nephews, David Sutton, Cleveland, Ohio; Christina (Richard) King, Kalamazoo, MI; Marta (Frank, deceased) La Londe, Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Clara (Doug) Paine, Kalamazoo; Bill Smith, Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Smith, Sault Ste. Marie. Victoria was the great and great-great aunt to many more. She was preceded in death by her husband Emil G. Wolf, her parents and her oldest sister Sylvia E. Mahoney. Our Aunt Vicky taught us many things about the joys of life. We will all miss her, so very much. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Raappana officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be on a later date at Mount Home Cemetery in Charlton Township, MI.
