Alice Isaacson

On January 2, 2023, the time came for our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great -great grandmother went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ, and all the family that has gone before. Alice Rilla Isaacson (Kirby) passed away at the age of 95, at My Michigan Long Term Care, Sault Ste Marie, where she had been living for 3 years. Alice was born in Ishpeming, MI on October 10, 1927. She graduated with the Sault High with the class of 1945. On November 10, 1951, she married William E. Isaacson better known as "Sweet William" they were married at Elim Lutheran Church and were together 49 years till Bill's passing in 2000. Alice belonged to the Order of Eastern Star for 62 years, was a life member of Queen of the North #82, and also honored life member of the state. She held many offices locally and served as a state officer in 1997. She was an avid bowler for years at both the Arcade and Don Dee lanes, and was instrumental in starting the Women's league, and is honored for her efforts with a plaque and inducted into the Sault's bowling hall of fame, at Don Dee lanes. Many years of service to Hospital Auxiliary. Alice spent many hours at Pullar Stadium she loved to skate, often when the Red Wings were in town for training camp she would be there skating with Gordie Howe, Al Delvecchio and many other players. She started her work career at The Evening News, Montgomery Wards and ended as the head Bookkeeper at Soo Coop Credit Union. She is preceded in death by son Willian E. Isaacson II, granddaughter Kathryne A. Guimond, brother's William Kirby and Joseph E. Kirby II And sister Coreen Drozd. Alice is survived by daughters Kristi (Richard) Guimond, Curtis MI, Lori (Corey) Strickland Sault MI and a son Kirby (Deborah) Isaacson Hammond IN. 10 Grandchildren Scott Kagarise, Ronald Kagarise, Katherine Kagarise, Matthew Kagarise, Lynnea (Drake) Bumstead, Emily Guimond, Brooklyn NY, Robert (Tani) Guimond Brooklyn NY, Sara (Marc) Bake Green Bay WI, Krysta (Cassidy) Amadi Kaukauna, WI. 11 great grandchildren Andrew Kagarise, Scott Jr. Kagarise, Rachelle Kagarise, Paris Kagarise, Elliana Kagarise, Easton Kagarise. Isaac and Mara Bake, Jide Amadi, MaKenna and Deacon Bumstead. 5 Great- great grandchildren: Nevaeh Kagarise, Brantley Kagarise, Braxton Kagarise, Zoey Kelly and Janie Little. Please consider making a donation in Alice's memory to My Michigan Long Term Care Unit Services will be Thursday January 12, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church 1600 Park Street in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. A visitation will be held from 12-1pm. Eastern Star Services at 1 pm followed by Funeral services by Reverend Rita Chirala
