Allison Marie McCord

Allison Marie (Gamble) McCord, age 33, of Hessel, Michigan died on May 4, 2015. Allison was born to Kim Scott Gamble and Sheila Lynn Chavers Gamble on January 2, 1982 in Morgan City, Louisiana. When Ali was 6 years old she moved to Hessel, Michigan to live with her Grandmother Alice Gamble. She grew up in Hessel where she attended Les Cheneaux Public Schools. On September 3, 2005 she married Russell McCord and they started their family. In 2010 she attended Lake Superior State University where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2012. She was employed as a nurse at Tendercare Sault Ste. Marie. Most recently she was employed with Cedar Cove Assisted Living in Cedarville, Michigan as an LPN. Ali dedicated her life to giving and caring for all those around her. Even in death Ali’s thoughts were to help those who were in need. She became a live organ donor through the Gift of Life, and made lifesaving changes for five individuals with her donation. Ali will forever be remembered as a caring and giving woman who dedicated her life to helping others. Ali loved cake decorating. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, bonfires, hosting gatherings, football sunday, wine tasting and reading. The most important aspect of Ali’s life was her family and children. Ali was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Ali is survived by her husband, Russell McCord and their three children Gavin, Connor, and Hanna McCord; parents, Kim Scott Gamble and Shelia Lynn Chavers Gamble; step mother Lori Gamble of Moran; mother-in-laws Debbie McCord and Penny Chambers; grandmother, Mable McCord; siblings, Stephanie (Randy Marshall) Lash of St. Ignace, Kimberly (Michael Pollard) Gamble of Hessel, Jamie (Bill) Nye of Hessel, Steven Lindley of Napoleonville, Louisiana, Leland Ohmer of Moran, Daniel Marsh of Moran; and sister-in-law Shanda McCord. She is also survived by nieces, and nephews, Madison, Julia, Cody, Waylon, Warren, Amelia, Scott, Addison, Calyn, and Summer; and Ali’s best friend Kim Lee. Ali was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Gamble, and Father-in-Law Ron McCord, and Gramma B. Visitation will be held Friday May 8, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and also 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday May 9, 2015 at R. Galer Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M., also located at R. Galer Funeral Home 24549 S. M129 Pickford, Michigan, with Pastor Scout Hester officiating.
