Brenda Sue Brow

Brenda Sue Brow, age 54, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died surrounded by her family at Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday, September 29, 2017. Brenda was born on March 12, 1963, in Manistique, Michigan, to Edward Lawrence Stone and Betty Darlene (nee Williams) Stone. Brenda grew up in McMillan, Michigan, and attended Newberry High School where she graduated in 1981. Following graduation, she moved to Texas, North Carolina, and then returned to Newberry, where she worked for Louisiana Pacific for several years in quality control. In 1986 Brenda married Dean Brow and they moved to Sault Ste. Marie where she worked at the WYSS 99.5 radio station and then in the Sault Tribe Insurance department. Brenda then owned “The New You” Beauty Salon and started a cosmetology school in Sault Ste. Marie and then Petoskey. She and Dean owned several commercial real estate buildings with commercial tenants. She also operated Brenda’s Bridal. She sold real estate for Smith and Company Real Estate for 15 years where she became a licensed broker. In 2015, she purchased Century 21 Advantage Plus Real Estate in Sault Ste. Marie and continued to operate it while fighting her battle with cancer. One of her goals was to host and attend the Sault Chamber of Commerce Business After 5, at Century 21 Sault offices just last week, which she accomplished. Brenda was a hard worker and paid attention to details. She had a “git r done” attitude, but managed to make each task include elements of fun. “The only time she had any fun was when she was alone or with somebody.” The consummate multi-tasker, she covered a lot of ground in a hurry. Brenda had a wonderful smile, which she shared often. She lived life to the fullest and loved every day. She was a friend you could count on. Brenda belonged to the Eastern Upper Peninsula Board of Realtors and the Michigan Commercial Board of Realtors, where she served on both boards of directors. She had achieved a GRI (Graduate REALTOR® Institute) designation and a CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation. She was also a member of the Michigan State Board of Realtors and the National Board of Realtors. She was also a licensed Insurance Agent. She kiddingly said, “You know you have made it when you have your picture on a billboard.” Hers in on I-75 as you come into the Soo. Brenda loved to spend time with family and friends, often at the casino. She enjoyed traveling and had been to California, Quebec, Jamaica, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Vegas. She also enjoyed golfing. Brenda is survived by her husband, Dean, and her mother, Betty. She is also survived by two daughters, Stacy Marie (Vernon, “Bill”) Berry of McMillan, and Michelle Marie (Eric) Baldino of Sault Ste. Marie; two sons, Eric Wayne (Jaimee) Brow of Sault Ste. Marie, and Chad Alexander (Erika) Winick of Dundee, Michigan; and eight grandchildren, Austin Berry, Mathew Berry, Morgan Brow, Chloe Brow, Eric Baldino, Keira Baldino, Alex Winick, and Kiley Winick. Brenda is also survived by one sister, Vickie (Dennis) Dodwell of Corpus Christi, Texas, and one brother Larry John (Tracie) Stone of McMillan. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Edward Stone. Services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, at R. Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S. M-129 in Pickford, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Brenda’s final resting place will be at McMillan Cemetery in Columbus Township of Luce County, Michigan.
