Dale Robert Dunn

Dale Robert Dunn, 25, passed away unexpectedly on November 18th, 2014. He was born in Petoskey, Michigan to Dale and Lisa Dunn on July 4, 1989. Dale resided in Cedarville, Michigan with his wife Chelsea (Babcock) Dunn. He graduated from Cedarville Schools and went on to earn an Associate’s degree in Business Management from Lake Superior State University. Dale also studied cut–to-length timber harvesting at Vermillion Community College in Ely, Minnesota. He worked at Bennett & Sons Logging, and most recently, for Hakola Logging. Dale was an avid sno-cross racer, and spent 6 happy years pursuing the sport, first with Hicks Racing and later under his family’s own banner, Dunn Racing. His dad, Dale Sr., made sure Dale had the best equipment possible, and together they had many wins to their credit, including a circuit championship. In later years, Dale father and son team ran a sled together in the I-500 Enduro. Dale also loved the outdoors and hunting. He began going to deer camp with his dad when he was a small boy. Dale was, above all else, a people person. His fun loving personality and amazing sense of humor drew people to him, and he made friends wherever he went. His loyal and caring nature earned him the love of many, many lifelong friends. The tremendous outpouring of love at the news of his passing is a testament to how many people’s lives Dale touched in his short 25 years. Dale met his wife Chelsea at a NASCAR race in August of 2012, and they have been inseparable ever since. Dale found his soul-mate in Chelsea, and they were married on September 20th of this year. Chelsea’s wonderful family embraced him and made them one of their own. He spent many happy times with them, filled with love and laughter. Although Dale’s life was ended far too soon, those who knew him know that he made the most of every day he was given. Dale was a good student throughout his education, and consistently placed on the honor role. He grew into a hard-working, responsible young man, who earned the high esteem of his employers. Above all, he was an extremely loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, and husband. He had wisdom beyond his years in that he realized that life was not to be taken for granted. In the last two and a half years of his life, after meeting Chelsea, he enjoyed a deep level of happiness and contentment in every aspect of his life that very few people are lucky enough, or wise enough, to experience. Dale is survived by his wife, Chelsea Marie Dunn; his parents, Dale and Lisa Dunn; his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Jim Zyble; his nephews, Jim and Jack Zyble; and his parents and sister-in-law, Pam, Mike and Taylor Babcock. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dale was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Betty Altmaier of Columbus, Ohio, and Archie and Bernadine Dunn of Cedarville; and his uncle, Mike Donnelly of Granville, Ohio. Services for Dale will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at R. Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S. M-129 in Pickford, Michigan. A gathering time will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Memorials may be directed to the Les Cheneaux Ambulance Auxiliary, P.O.
