Diane Borrousch

Cherished mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, auntie, and friend to so many, our beloved Diane Kathleen Church Borrousch was called home by her Lord and Savior to rest in eternal peace Sunday, July 11, 2021. Diane was born on March 22, 1938, in Flint Michigan, to the late Forrest B. "Dick" and Ada (Brooks) Church. After high school, Diane attended Michigan State University and then Lake Superior State University, graduating in 1974 with highest honors. She later attended Northern MI University receiving her master's degree. Diane achieved her dream of becoming a teacher for Sault Area schools in 1975 where she dedicated herself to helping her students through tough love and honesty. Alternative Education (currently Malcolm) became her passion and purpose to help change lives and make a difference. She made a difference in her family as well enjoying and sharing the bounties of nature and all that it has to offer. Diane was a member of the Women's Auxiliary American Legion of Sault Ste. Marie, the Sault Sportsman Club where she served as Treasurer. She was listed as Outstanding Female Executives, Who's Who Among American Teachers, Awarded Teacher of the Year, and numerous other awards and accolades. Diane is survived by her three children: Pennie Rosin- Borrousch (Marla) of Jacksonville FL, Kenneth (Stacy) Borrousch of Coatesville, IN, and Dennis Borrousch of Cedarville, MI; and six grandchildren: Noah Rosin-Borrousch, Zachary Rosin-Borrousch, Daniel Borrousch, Joshua Borrousch, Luke Borrousch, and Emmalee Borrousch. Diane is also survived by her brothers: David (Kathy)Church, Randy (Gale) Church, and Rick (Ruth) Church; and Nieces and Nephews: Becky Church, Nikki Woods, Rob Church, Rachael Harding, and Amy Church. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Raappana officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be at Cedarville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of the EUP or the Sault Area Foundation for Education. There will be a live zoom meeting for people to watch the service.
