Eleanor R. Williams Our beloved Mother, Eleanor Ruby Williams, 85, passed into eternal life on Wed. Feb. 3, 2010 surrounded by the loving generations of her family. Born December 16th, 1924, in Atlanta, Michigan to John and Bertha Weaver she was a life-long resident of the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Eleanor graduated with honors from Nursing School at Northern Michigan University in 1963, while raising her eight children and working full time. After retirement as a Nurse Supervisor from Newberry State Hospital Eleanor worked as a Home Health Nurse in Naples and Martha's Vinyard and enjoyed many years of traveling and adventure visiting her children and grand-children across the country and in Germany and Hawaii. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Shirley (Philip) Massey, Delores (Howard) Weaver, Marian (Dick) Baldwin, and Mae (Joe) Cady, her two brothers James (Rose) Weaver and Howard (May) Weaver, and and infant son, Darrell Wayne. Eleanor's enduring strength and spirit lives on in her children Carolyn (Bill) Beaudin, of Green Bay, WI; Gail Sevarns-Berry, of Newberry; Robert of Taylor, MI; Cheryl (Paul) Prince of Morehead, KY; Debra (John) Juday, of Petoskey, MI; Billie Jo (Rudy) Johnson, of Strongs, MI; Brenda Feeley, of Ft. Myers, FL; and Sue Ellen (Len) Nolan, of Naples, FL. Her humor and play-fullness will be remembered by her grandchildren, John (Merry) Rintamaki, Tara (KC) Wilson; Lori (Jeff) Puckett, Jimmy Sevarns; Robert (Angel) Robinson, Tammie (Chad) Blumrich, Kevin Williams, Tina (Jon) Barhite; Amy (Chris) Turner, Beth (Enrique) Prince, Becky (Mike) Prince, Lisa (Todd) Russell, Angela Prince, Amanda (Rico) Prince, Paula Prince; Toni (Donald) Kimbler; Chad Johnson, Wendy (Scott) Newton, Erin Johnson; Michael Verrett, Sgt.1st Class Kristopher Verrett (Jennifer), Bethanie (Scott) Tarbert; and Cody, Dylan, and Regina Nolan. Eleanor is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, by her lovely sister, Bernice Mills of Newberry, and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at the First Presbyterian Church, in Newberry, on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life and her legacy of love will be held Saturday morning, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 am. with Pastor Nancy Barkat officiating and her family and friends participating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Goodfellows of Newberry.
