Frieda A. Misenko

Frieda A. Misenko Frieda was born on September 19, 1921 in Berlin, Germany. Weighing a mere 2lbs, which was the beginning of her long and willful passion for life and survival. We have all grown up with these amazing stories of our family and our history. The brutal journeys she had to face and travel through, during the war and throughout her life. She had heart, courage, strength, and faith. Walked through so many treacherous battles, at one point just to survive. Yet later she found her journey would lead her to this country. She had seen and gone through so many things most couldn't think possible. Yet this amazing wom-an did it. She did so for "us". Unknowingly at the time but still for us to be inspired by such strength, courage, perseverance, and better opportunity for her future generations. Frieda's life wasn't always easy but she had so much courage and a will to live on and move for-ward. She was able to watch her daughter grow, then her 5 grandchildren, 16 great grand-children, 21 great great grandchildren, and was even blessed with enough time to see her first great great great grandchild. Our hearts are sad because she is not with us in person anymore but we are so grateful that through all of her battles she can finally live in peace with our lord. It would have been so easy many of times to just give up but she didn't, and for this we will all be eternally thankful and inspired by her strength and courage. We were all blessed with lives we wouldn't have known without her nor been inspired to face every day with the courage and heart that she always did. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We love you with all of our hearts! Frieda enjoyed feeding her birds and her flower gardens. She also enjoyed knitting each of her family members an afghan. Her grandchildren loved to snuggle with her and smell her German perfume. Frieda is survived by her husband of 59 years: Albert L. Misenko; a daughter: Annelie Workman of Kincheloe, MI; five grandchildren: Rochelle (George) Denger of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Romona (Glenn) LaLonde of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Rene (Craig) Anderson of Minnesota, Dane (Janel) Wallis of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Connie Wallis of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; 16 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister: "Eli" Compton of California. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Gustav Senftleben; and two sisters: Elizabeth Clark and Minna Martha Kipferling. Private family services will be held at a later date. Entombment will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Chippewa County Animal Shel-ter.
