Geneva Ann Sika

Geneva Ann Sika (Eitrem), 79 years old, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, went to God on June 10th 2016 at War Memorial Hospital with her family by her side and her two granddaughters, Tonya and Ashley, as servicing nurses. As her friends would call her Jeepi or Jean, her eight children called her Ma. She carried a larger than life personality and was always sure to tell you exactly what was on her mind. She loved to laugh, play jokes on people and try to get you going in some way or another. She enjoyed meeting people, dancing, listening to Tom Jones, Patsy Cline, Elvis, Wayne Newton and Frank Sinatra, visiting the casinos, spending time with family, visiting the local garage sales and taking drives with her oldest daughter and best friend, Debbie. Of all things Geneva held dear in her life, the title of "Mother" was the most important to her. She was a woman who would and did do everything earthly possible to ensure her children were raised with God, manners, work ethics, generosity, loyalty, respect and courage. Some of her teaching quotes were as follows: "Always trust in God's Plan", "Always give a hungry person food", "Never give up on yourselves or your dreams", "Never let anyone bully you", "I never want you to fight but If you have to fight, you better win", "Enjoy yourself and have fun with life" and "never ever be a liar or a cheat" to name a few. She is survived by all eight children who are Debbie Cox (Terry James), Joe (Cindy) Cox, Karen (Abel) Campos, David Eitrem (Pam), Shirley (Mike) Donajkowski, Linda Rogers (Rex Knowling), Harold "Rocky" (Stacy) Jones Jr. and Anthony (Gissell) Horde. She is also survived by her Brothers Lee (Ann) Eitrem, Joe (Dorthy) Eitrem and Odin (Elaine) Eitrem along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Go with God Ma and we will continue to honor your teachings. We all love you so much and we know your love will always be with us. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Father Sebastian Kavumkal officiating. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Friends and family may send flowers or memorials may be left to Salvation Army in Geneva's name.
