Jason Andrew Green

Jason Andrew "Dude" Green, age 38, of Pickford, Michigan passed away Sunday evening, July 28, 2013. Jason was born October 13, 1974 in Farmington Hills, Michigan to Gerald and Kay (Colby) Green. He was a graduate of Detour High School with the class of 1992. Jason served in the the United States Air Force as a Medic. This is where he discovered his love of the medical field. Jason and Tina (Nettleton) went on their first date on July 2, 1994 and were married in Pickford, Michigan on August 29, 1998. They shared many wonderful memories together including a trip to Cedar Point. Jason enjoyed all of his family. He had a special bond with each of his children. Taylor and her Dad would have great conversations while playing rousing games of poker. James enjoyed learning to play the piano from his dad. And nobody could do Alexis's hair like her Dad. He also always made time for his nieces and nephews. Among his family were his co workers. He was truly in his element at the hospital and had a passion for his work. He received an employee of the year award. He worked as a scrub tech at War Memorial Hospital for the last seven years. Before that, he worked in construction and as a blackjack dealer. Jason enjoyed playing video games, the piano, and spending time with his dog Zoe and the newest addition Miss Beasley. Jason is survived by his wife: Tina Green of Pickford, MI; three children: Taylor, James, and Alexis Green of Pickford, MI; his step-mother: Joanne Green of Drummond Island, MI; his mother: Karen "Kay" (Tom) Lind of Homosassa, FL; his father and mother-in-law: Stanley and Joanie Nettleton of Travelers Rest, SC; a brother: Jerry (Jennifer) Green of Wilmington, NC; a step-brother: Mark (Tracy) Braamse of Tawas, MI; a step-sister: Becky (Jeff) Dubuque of Freeland, MI; and a sister-in-law: Tabitha (Chuck) Newell of Pickford, MI. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Brandon and Dylan Braamse, Jack, Adria, Ainsley, Vivian Green, Evan, Kaitlyn and Ryan Dubuque, Johannah, Noah Nettleton, and Donny, Joey, and Billy Newell. As well as his great niece and nephews: Leah Archibald, Jake Newell and Levi Parr. Jason was preceded in death by his father: Gerald Green and a brother-in-law: Stanley Nettleton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Weihman officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be at Lytle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to help establish a education fund for his children.
