John H. Beamish, Jr.

John H. Beamish, Jr. 65, of Sault Sainte Marie, MI, beloved husband, and best friend of Debra (Atkinson-Porcaro) Beamish for 20 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on February 6, 2017, at the Hospice House of the EUP. John was born October 30, 1951, in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan to John, Sr. and Pearl (Crimin) Beamish. He graduated from Sault Area High School in 1970. On July 20, 1996 he married the former Debra Atkinson - Porcaro in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. John was employed by Superior Vending, until the time of his illness. John spent most of his free time outdoors, as an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed sharing in that passion with his son, Aaron. He was a lifelong Red Wings fan. "Pa" never missed his Grandson's hockey practices, or games. He also enjoyed gardening, football, spending time with his family, and his extensive group of friends, that he loved. Besides his wife Debra, John is survived by his devoted son, Aaron Porcaro, of Sault Sainte Marie, daughter in law Samara Porcaro, of Dafter, father John H. Beamish, Sr., of Sault Sainte Marie, brother Bill (Bonnie) Beamish, of Sault Sainte Marie, sisters Peggy (Ken) Sherman, of Brimley, and Patty (Dion) Kuczewski, of Rapid River. Also, surviving are John's in-laws, Diane Atkinson Johnson, Doug (Kim) Atkinson, Doreen Atkinson (Robert) Brown, all of Sault Sainte Marie. John was "Pa" to his two adoring grandsons, Connor and Easton Porcaro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. John will be held in their hearts eternally as a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all. We thank God for the gift of John's life, and the blessing of the time we spent with him. He was predeceased in death by his mother, Pearl (Crimin) Beamish, and his neice, Michelle Sherman. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Arango, and Dr. Chander, Hospice House of the EUP, and all their staff. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care was a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. The family would like to especially thank Samara Porcaro, for her loving care of John since his illness began. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 1pm, at Bruce Township Hall, Bruce Twp, Michigan, with Pastor Lon Mohr officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, in the spring, in Sault Sainte Marie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CS Mulder Funeral Home, to help with final expenses.
