John Henry Kronemeyer

On July 21, 2018, John Henry Kronemeyer, age 80, of Pickford, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Hudsonville, Michigan to Chester and Gertrude (Grasman) Kronemeyer, he was the oldest of 4 siblings. John’s passion for Dairy Farming began as a young boy, when talked his dad into buying him a cow, which he milked for the family. He attended Hudsonville High School, and graduated in 1955. In the year following high school, John completed the dairy short course at Michigan State University. In 1957 he married Julie, his wife of 60 years. He worked on a Dairy Farm until he was able to acquire a herd of his own in Hudsonville. Cramped for room to expand his Dairy operation the young Dairyman moved his wife and family of 3 at the time to the Upper Peninsula, where the Family farm continues today. John was a Lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church, where he held several consistorial positions. He also held Local, State and National positions in: DHIA, Michigan Holstein Association, Michigan Ag Commission, UP Agricultural Growth Association, Upper Peninsula State Fair Board, and MMPA. John has been Marquette Township Supervisor for 40+ years, and still held that position at the time of his death. John enjoyed road trips, taking the back roads to look at farm country, traveling, and watching his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids sporting events. John is survived by his wife, Julia Kronemeyer; daughters, Jane (Dave) Bishop of Pickford, Joyce (Mike) Ross of Rudyard, Michigan, Joanne (Karl) Shaffer of Brimley, Michigan; sons, Jack Kronemeyer of Brimley, Jim (Toni) Kronemeyer of Pickford, Jason (Amy) Kronemeyer of Barbeau, Michigan; grandchildren, John "J.D." (Erica) Bishop, Amanda (Luke) Munger, Ashley (Matt) Bailey, Jesse (Shelli) Bishop, Judy Bishop, Emily (Mike) Ross, Rachael Ross, Meagan Ross, Derek Ross, Dorianne (Eric) Minaker Shaffer, Jeanette Shaffer, Chelsea Kronemeyer, Lindsey Kronemeyer, Nathan Kronemeyer, Zachary Kronemeyer, Mallorie Kronemeyer, Maryssa Kronemeyer, Austin Kronemeyer, Alexis Scott, Mikayla Scott, Jordan Scott, Carson Kronemeyer, Maxwell Scott; great-grandchildren, Luke, Mark, Isabella, Madison, Jaylin, Channing, Charlie, Bill, Grace, Ally, Emma, Lucy, Jaycob, Ryan, Jaycee, and Michael; brother, Harvey (Jenella) Kronemeyer of Zeeland, Michigan; sisters, Anna (Ken) McCreary of Allegan, Michigan, Ginger (Robert) Salisbury of Gowan, Michigan; brother-in-law, Eugene (Virginia) Kort of Wyoming, Michigan. John is preceded in death by his, daughter, Judy Kronemyer; parents, Chester and Gertrude Kronemeyer; and daughter-in-law, Rachel Kronemeyer. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at R. Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 beginning at 10:30 A.M. at Rudyard Christian Reformed Church in Rudyard.
