John Robert Mullen

John Robert "Bob" Mullen peacefully went to be with his Heavenly Father early Friday morning, October 2, 2015 from the Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. His beloved family was at his side. Bob was born on June 7, 1932 in Sault Ste. Marie to the late Harold and Mary (Doyle) Mullen. He attended Sault High School. In 1952, he married his sweetheart, Theresa Tremblay, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brimley Michigan. They spent over 63 loving years together. Bob had a 30 year career with the Evening News and, after a brief stint with the railroad, had a 2nd sixteen-year career with the International Bridge Authority before fully retiring in 1997 to spend time with his family. He was a member of the Sault Tribe and a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, and children: Irene (Jim) Reischel of Bloomer, WI; John Mullen of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Marie (Randy) Scoggins of Mount Dora, FL; Brian Mullen of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Catherine (Mick) Maleport of Dafter, MI; Daniel Mullen of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Dolores (Larry) Hall of Orlando, FL, and brother, Harold "Bud" Mullen of Midland, MI. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with two more on the way. Bob has now joined his parents; youngest son, Paul; grandson, Elijah; sisters, Shirley Cameron & Marjorie Kelly; and brother, Jim Beaumont; who preceded him to Heaven. Bob's love for his family and friends was a shining example of Christ's unconditional love for us. His wit and sense of humor coupled with his considerate, kind, and generous spirit touched all those he came into contact with. We eagerly look forward to being reunited with him in Heaven. A visitation for Bob's family and friends will be held at the C.S. Mulder Funeral Home, S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie on Monday, October 5th, 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 1101 Minneapolis St; Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday, October 6th, at 11:00 A.M. with father Michael Chenier as celebrant.
