June Claire Ferguson

June C. Ferguson, age 82, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan went to meet her heavenly Father early Wednesday morning, June 23, 2010 at the Hospice facility at Hearthside Assisted Living. June was born on May 10, 1928 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Townsend) Carley. She graduated from Sault High School with the class of 1947 and she worked as a nurse's aid for several years. On September 7, 1949, she married Robert Ferguson at the First United Presbyterian Church in Sault Ste. Marie. June was a past member of the Board of Deacons at the First Presbyterian Church of Escanaba and more recently was a member of the First Church of Christ here in Sault Ste. Marie. June was the love of Robert's life, June and Bob were married 61 years. She loved her family, and her family greatly loved her. June was a people person and was always there, willing to help. Her nightly prayer was that each family member come to know the Lord as their personal Savior. She was an excellent cook and she grew some of the best tomatoes around. She loved all animals, but especially German Shepherds. She also loved her flower gardens and watching her hummingbirds. June never missed her grandsons' activities. June is survived by her husband: Robert Ferguson of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; her daughter: Jan (James) Conley of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and two grandsons: Christopher Conley of Seoul, South Korea and Dustin Conley of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. She is also survived by three sisters: Gloria (William) Batho of Fibre, MI, Carol (Harold) Plouff of Escanaba, MI, and Sharon (Don) Lawrence of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. June is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers: Elmer, Robert, Wayne, and Harold Carley. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, June 28, 2010 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Peasley officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be left to Hospice of the EUP to help build the new hospice house.
