Lois M. Talentino

Lois M. Talentino, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2010 at War Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Lois was born February 23, 1923 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Earl and LaVina (Doran) Fagen. She grew up and spent her life in Sault Ste. Marie. On December 19, 1942 she married Rokie Talentino and together they built a home and family. They owned and operated Talentino Sales selling snowmobiles and RV''s for 17 years. Lois was preceded by her husband of 61 years Rokie Talentino, her daughter Nancy Talentino, an infant grandson David Mills, her parents Earl and LaVina Fagen and two sisters, Myrtle Hoornstra and Dorothy Noble. She is survived by four children, Diana (Patrick) Mills and James (Rose) Talentino of Sault Ste. Marie, Twylia Talentino of Merritt Island, Florida and Lorie (Kevin) Smith of Almont, Michigan. Ten grandchildren, Cheryl (David) Jones, Tony (Joni) Talentino, Carri Bradley, Steven (Michelle) Brosco, Tim (Suzy) Talentino and Cristi (Ken) Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Doug Smith of Oxford, Michigan, Master Sergeant Terri Roland of Derby, Kansas, Jodie Smith of Almont Michigan and Chad Cryderman of Merritt Island, Florida. Lois is also survived 17 great grandchildren, Emily Brosco, Zack Talentino, Nico Talentino, Alexa Jones, Mikaila Talentino, Kali Brosco, Noah Talentino, Ryan Jones, Melina Talentino, Brendan Bradley, Cason Smith, Makenna Smith, and Brylee Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Katelynn Parr of Pickford, Gianni Roland and Briana Roland of Derby Kansas, and Ella Cichewicz of Almont Michigan. Her great grandchildren will miss the treats and snacks she had for them whenever they visited her. Family was everything to Lois. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the most important thing in her life. She loved to celebrate their Birthdays, Anniversaries, and other special occasions with them. She was happiest when they all gathered together to celebrate the Holidays, no matter how crowded or chaotic it may get. She was proud of her family and was blessed to have lived to enjoy a third generation. Her memory will remain in their hearts and her devotion to them will never be forgotten The family of Lois Talentino would like to thank the staff of War Memorial Hospital''s Long Term Care Unit for the care she received over the last four years. A special good bye goes to her roommates Helen and Lodeema, whom she shared her last years with. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Clark Bailey-Newhouse Funeral Home in Sault Ste. Marie. The mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:15 p.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with Brother John Hascall as Celebrant. Burial at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens will immediately follow. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie.
