Margaret "Peggy" Ann Simpson

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Simpson, age 60, of Pickford, Michigan, died on March 2, 2019, under hospice care at Pennington Home in Pickford. She was born on April 28, 1958, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Robert Elwood Carl and Beverley Ann (Crawford) Rosing. Peggy grew up in Stalwart, Michigan, and graduated from Pickford High School with the class of 1976. She attended the Sault Area Skill Center, where she earned a certificate in food services. She started working at Kmart in the Meldisco Shoe Department. After several years, Peggy went back to the Skill Center and earned her certificate in Accounting and Bookkeeping and began working for Michigan Works, where she helped many people. She also worked with many children in the summer youth programs. Peggy started U.P Interiors and operated her business for several years. She married Alfred Simpson on December 8, 2000, in Sault Ste. Marie. Peggy was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxillary in Hessel, Michigan. Peggy learned at a very young age how to cook and bake, which became something she loved as she grew up. She made special cakes for all birthdays and holidays. She also liked gardening, hunting, fishing, arts & crafts, cross-stich, embroidery, making Christmas ornaments, and watching scary movies. Above all she loved the time she could spend with her grandchildren and family. Peggy is survived by her husband, Al Simpson of Pickford; daughter, Kelly A. Jones of Kalamazoo, Michigan; step-son, Seth (Sarah) Simpson of Cincinnati, Ohio; step-daughter, Charity (Jeff McClelland) Simpson of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Trevor Jones-Hirr, Carter Jones-Hirr, Ella and Grey Simpson, and Edie and Reid McClelland; brothers, Robert Rosing of Adrian, Michigan, and William (Cathy) Rosing of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania; sister, Cherie (Rob) Rye of Stalwart; brother-in-law, Rob Simpson of Clare, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Adele Simpson of St. Clair Shores, Michigan and Kathy Simpson of Washington; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert G. and Margaret W. Crawford and Russel and Margaret McCabe; parents, Robert and Beverly Rosing; granddaughter, Ava Annmarie Jones; son-in-law, Andrew Jones; and brothers-in-law, Mac Simpson and George Simpson. A Graveside Service and Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2019. Interment will be at Stalwart Cemetery.
