Meredith Ann (Beach) Fountain

Meredith Ann (Beach) Fountain, age 93, of Cedarville, Michigan, died on January 15, 2026, at Cedar Cove Assisted Living in Cedarville. She was born on September 23, 1932, in Cedarville to Howard and Grace (Baker) Beach. Meredith was born and raised in Cedarville until around the age of twelve, when her family moved to Royal Oak, Michigan. She graduated from Royal Oak High School and went on to attend a business college in Detroit. After completing her education, she worked in Detroit for several years. Fate brought Meredith back together with a childhood family friend, James Harris Fountain, the couple married in 1954, and Meredith gained two “bonus” children through their union. Together, they made their home in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, where they welcomed and raised four more children. Following James’ retirement in 1988, the couple returned to Cedarville, where they spent the remainder of their years enjoying the community and all it had to offer. Meredith was deeply proud of her Cedarville roots and her family’s long connection to the area. She gave back to her community by volunteering with the Cedarville Beautification Committee and the DeTour Botanical Gardens, sharing her love of nature and her gentle dedication until she was no longer able to drive. A woman of many quiet joys, Meredith loved working on puzzles, learning about geography, and watching Hallmark movies. Her happiest moments were often spent in her garden, where she could be found tending flowers and plants with care, much like she tended to her family throughout her life. Meredith is survived by her children, Laurie (Todd) Reid of Cedarville, Scott (Darlene) Fountain of Dearborn Heights, and Bruce (Donna) Fountain of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; step-children, Darrell (Ellen) Fountain of Chandler, Arizona, and Jennifer Warner of Goetzville, Michigan; son-in-law, Don Granchi of Dearborn Heights; grandchildren, Amy (Simon Herrera) Fountain and Wesley Dixon; granddaughter-in-law, Tina Gibson; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Champagne, Stephen Herrera, and Abby Herrera. Meredith was preceded in death by her husband, James Fountain; daughter, Lisa Granchi; grandson, Bobby Gibson; parents, Howard and Grace; siblings, Wesley (Mildred) Beach and Eleanor (Michael) Onuskanich; and stepson-in-law, Paul Warner.
