Robert :Bob: Bouchard

Robert T. "Bob" Bouchard, 68 of Livonia, formerly Trout Lake passed away Sunday, September 23 at St Marys Mercy Hospital in Livonia. He was born November 9,1943 in Newberry to Clarence and Viveka ( Taube) Bouchard. He graduated from Newberry High School and attended one year of college, then joining the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era, He served in Germany as a 1st Lt/Ord C. Motor Officer with the 2nd Batalion 333rd Artillery US Forces. He came home and was a Tool and Die maker for 15 years. In 1984 he bought the Toby"s Buchhorn in Trout Lake and owned until 2012, moving to Livonia because of health issues. He was an avid sports fan, expecially University of Michigan Football, and sports of all kinds. He was a member of St.Ignace Golf and Country Club, and bowled at Gateway Lanes. He loved his springer spaniel dogs and pets of any kind. He was a member of the Newberry American Legion #74; and Newberry VFW; and a life member of Newberry Elks Club. He was an Elder of the Sault Tribe Chippewa Indians. He was very proud of his military time and always flew an American Flag along with a blue and gold University of Michigan flag. On November 27,1982 he married Elsie Roberts, and she survives; also children; son, Daniel Kneeves, South Lyon; daughters, Marian ( David) Ross, Livonia; Christine (John) Lacy, South Lyon; Kimberly Vallier, Macomb; brothers, Patrick ( Joan) Riordan, Drummond Island; William ( Beth) Riordan, Munising; Gary Bouchard, Chesterton, Indiana; sisters, Barbara Bouchard, Trout Lake; Maricarol (Mick) Wartella, Sun Prairie,WI; Nancy (Dan) Aho, Elburn, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also a host of friends who will miss him greatly.He was preceeded in death by his parents, and step father, Dan Riordan. Friends may call at Dodson Funeral Home, St.Ignace on Thursday, September 27 from 10 am until services at 2 pm with Rev. Erik Allsgaard officiating. Military rites will be at Lakeview Cemetery inTrout Lake where he will be laid to rest. Memorials may be directed to the Jacobetti Home for Veterans with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home who handled arrangements.Pallbearers will be Cliff, Gerry, & Bob Vallier; John Lacy; Rob Wartella & Keith McGowan.
