Kenneth Floyd Krueger

Kenneth Floyd Krueger,81 of Mackinaw City passed away Saturday morning, April 22 at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique. He was born on March 1,1936 in Alanson to John and Laura (Valot) Krueger. the oldest of 7 boys. He graduated from high school and had 2 years advanced education. He retired from the Village of Mackinaw City after 43 years of service, 14 as a police officer and 28 years in the Maint. Department, many as supt.of water and sewer Dept. and was on the Fire Department 43 years. He was very loyal to the village and was well liked by all. He never had a bad word to say of anyone. Always helpful and friendly. He was short in stature, but had a big heart, and always smiling.. He married Dorothy Phillips on December 30,1957 in Cheboygan. He served in the U.S.Army from October ,1954 to October, 1956. He was a PFC (1), and served in Stuttgard, Germany.as a Radio Message Operator. This was at the end of the Korean War He was a member of the Lions club for 37 years,and a hunter, fisherman, mushroom picker and also picked berries and made jam. He loved bowling with his brothers.. He called bingo at the Catholic CHurch many years..He has been ill several years with alzheimers. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Diane,; a son, Kenneth King (Beverly) Krueger, Graham, N.C,; a daughter, Laura Jean Teike, Carp Lake; 6 brothers,Richard (Darlene) Krueger; David (Sandy) Krueger; Dwight (Martha) Krueger; Lowell (Carol) Krueger;; Gerald (Dawn) Krueger; and Geoffrey(Susan) Krueger; all of Mackinaw City; 3 grandchildren, Adrianne Rae Krueger,Pauline Kay Teike ,and Kenneth King Krueger Jr.; and a great grandson, Payton Conrad Paquin.. He was preceded in death by his parents, and twin sister, Ashley. Memorial services will be held on Wedneday, April 26 at 2 pm at the Church of the Straits in Mackinaw City with Pastor Susie Hierholzer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. HIs ashes will be intered in Lakeview Cemetery in Mackinaw City Memorials may be directed to the Mackinaw City Lions Club or the animal shelte. Envelopes available from. Dodson Funeral Home, St.Ignace who assisted the family with services.
