Roy Clow

David Roy Clow, age 64, of Sugar Island, Michigan passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 21, 2006 at his home. He made peace with the Lord through Pastor Witte during his illness and is now enjoying the splendor of being in Heaven with Him. Roy was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on September 13, 1942, the son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Lounds) Clow. He worked for U.S. Steel Great Lakes Fleet for 31 years, retiring off the M/V Roger Blough in 1996. During retirement he went into construction work (self-employed) on Sugar Island. He made many wonderful, new friends during his years of working construction and he will miss them dearly. He's patiently waiting to be with them and all his family once again. He retired from construction in August of this year. He loved deer hunting and fishing but most of all, he loved to feed the deer and just watch them come in to eat. Especially the fawns, Roy is survived by his wife; Linda (Wright) Clow, whom he married on August 22, 1986, three daughters; Anne Marie (Mike) Willard of Toledo, Ohio, Dianna McKinley of Owasso, Michigan and Cathy Brehm of Brimley, Michigan, one son; Francis Gardner of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, four step-sons; Lyndon Kavo of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Michael (Debbie) Green, Kenneth Green, and Scott (Cindy) Green all of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by ten brothers and sisters; Delores (Dean) LaJoye of Marquette, Michigan, Leo (Sharon) Clow of Midland, Michigan, Wayne Clow, and Jay (Dee) Clow Both of Brimley, Michigan, Gary (Carrie) Clow of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Duane Clow of Delton, Michigan, Ivan (Marcia) Clow of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Kareen (Bob) Brown of Dafter, Michigan, and Nyle (Ruth) Clow and Jerry Clow both of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan as well as many nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clifford (1973) and Dorothy (2006) and a brother; Ernest (1977). Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM on Friday, November 24, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 25th at Community Baptist Church, 1006 E. 4th Ave, with Pastor Larry Witte officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to C.S. Mulder Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
