Lois (McMillan) Grooms

Lois Catherine (McMillan) Grooms, 96 of Rudyard passed away early Sunday morning, September 6 at the home of her. son, Tarry McMillan on S. Bisquet Road Rudyard. She was born on October 10,1918 in Henry,Michigan to Theodore and Hattie (Moon) Gill. She was merried to Judd McMillan and he died in December 1977, and she married James R. Grooms on November 19,1983 and he died in 1998. She lived in Fennville, Michigan many years, and worked for the Holland Hospital, and also worked for Mackinac Straits Hospital in the laundry dept, several years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and always a homemaker. She was a resident of Lomg Term Care and then Evergreen Living Center since it was built, and lived with her son the past year. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Fennville, and Grace Brethren Church in Ozark. She is survived by her loving family; sons, and daughters; Ron (Nellie) McMillan, Brimley; son Gerald McMillan;, , Holland; daigghter in law,Karen McMillan, Moran; daughter in law, JoAnn McMillan,, of Zepherhills,, Florida; Walter (JoAnn) McMillan, of Ozark; Rick (Judy) McMillan, Rudyard; Milton (Alma) McMillan, Ozark; Tarry (Kathy) McMillan, Rudyard; Doris Hiegol, Holland; Carol (Jack) Druckenmiller, Gould City; son in law Paul Voss of Holland; Audrey (Pat) McCarry, Holland; and Debbie (Brad) Gross, Oakland. 36 grandchildren and 96 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Raymond Gill and Eugene Gill, and a sister, Ida Hawkins. also her son Paul and son Donald;, and a daugher Carol. and daughter Diane and her 2 husbands. Friends may call at the Grace Brethren Church in Ozark on Thursday September 10 from 11 to noon when ser vices will be held with Rev. Rod Case officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Trout Lake with a lunch at the Township Hall following. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Chippewa County with envelopes available from Dodson Funeral Home, St.Ignace who assisted the family with arrangements. Pallbearers will be Tim, Matt, Andy, Victor, and Adam McMillan, and Alan Jones.
