Loreen Causley

Loreen Andrews Causley, 84 of Hessel passed away Monday, March 4 at Scottsdale Shay Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born in Hessel on May 5,1928 to Michael and Alice (Smith) Andrews. She married Raymond Joseph Causley on February 7,1948 in Hessel and he died October 1,2004. She graduated from high school and attended Delta College 2 years for business. Loreen worked many ocupations, housekeeping, Cook, waitress but her favorite job was being a grandmother and she loved beiing surrounded by her grandkids. She enjoyed NASCAR and Jeff Gordon; gardening, traveling, reading and spending time with her family. Retirement allowed her and Ray to travel the United States with Nashville; Mardi Gras, Gulf Shores, Alabama and Phoenix AZ being their favorite spots. She is a life time member Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel where she taught catechism classes. She loved to hunt and took 14 years before she got her first buck; and watching all sports was a passion. She is survived by a loving family; Sharon Causley, Sault Ste, Marie; Bob (Jan) Causley, Hessel; Lawrence Causley, Ft. McDowell, Arizona; Melanie (Lee) Vanderlooven, Sault Ste. Marie; Valarie (Jim) Huffman, Hessel; her sisters, Mildred Henry, Sault Ste. Marie; Shirley Mendoskin, Hessel; Margie Schmidt, Bridgeport MI; and Joann Black, Bridgeport,MI. eleven grandchildren; Raymond Lewis; Derek Causley; Rachel Causley; Hank Gravelle; Jennifer Terrill; Andrew Causley; Jared Causley; Jill McDonald; Brandon Warner; James Huffman and Loreena Huffman; and eight great grandchildren; Angela Lewis; Christopher Causley; Dorian Causley; Nathan Causley-Piche; Alyson Causley-Piche; Hannah Terrill; Colin Terrill; and Maks Terrill. She was preceeded in death byher husband; a son, Raymond M. Causley; daughter Patricia J. Causley; parents Michael and Alice Smith Andrews; brothers, Kenny Andrews and Glenn Andrews; sisters, Nina Eckart and Kathleen Landreville and great granddaughter, Mercedes Causley. Visitation will be at the Hessel Tribal Center on Sunday, March 10 all day with Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 11 at Our Lady of the Snows Church at 10 am with Fr. Pawel Mecwel officiating. Burial will be in the Italian Cemetery in the spring. Dodson Funeral Home, St.Ignace assisted the family with arrangements.
