Suzanne Kay Gable

Suzanne Kay (Maciag) Gable, age 50, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at home. She was born May 11, 1966, in Sault Ste. Marie. Suzanne grew up in Goetzville, Michigan, and graduated from DeTour High School in 1984. On August 29, 1987, she married her high school buddy, best friend, and soul mate, Robert Joseph “Bob” Gable, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Goetzville. Suzanne worked for many years at Sault Bank/FMB/Huntington National Bank in Sault Ste. Marie, before working for EUP Title Company, UP North Title Company, and then for the past four years, at the office of the Chippewa County Treasurer. Suzanne’s huge laugh and amazing smile were proof of her love of life. She was known for her love of a good prank, her hooded baby sweaters, her love for animals of all kinds, and Halloween. Suzanne was passionate about Detroit sports, snowmobile racing, and her pets. Her desire to experience life to its fullest took her traveling with a great group of friends and family to many places, including Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Germany. She loved to dance, knit, fish, snowmobile, boat, and camp. She loved a good party and to have a good time. She just spent her 50th Birthday celebrating with family at the Polka Fest at Bay Mills. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Bob Gable of Sault Ste. Marie; parents, Joseph and Kathryn (House) Maciag of Goetzville; brother, Scott (Brooke) Maciag of Goetzville; brothers-in-law, Andrew (Jennifer) Gable of Rudyard, Michigan, and Timothy (Katy) Gable of Iron River, Michigan; and sister-in-law, Jan Gable of Greenville, Illinois; and nieces and nephews, Cale and Evan Maciag, and Nathan, Rachel, Jeremy, Benjamin, Carrie, Marisa, and Alaina Gable. Suzanne was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Rose Maciag and William “Scott” and Florence House; brother-in-law, Daniel H. Gable; and father and mother-in-law, Daniel and Jeannine Gable. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Friday, July 29, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at R. Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S. M-129 in Pickford, Michigan. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, at 11:00 A.M. at R. Galer Funeral Home. Brother John Hascall will conduct the service. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Goetzville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chippewa County Animal Shelter, 3360 S. Mackinac Trail, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
