Charles Joseph Kimber

Charles "Chuck" Joseph Kimber J.R., of Sault Sainte Marie, MI, formerly Alma, MI and Grand Blanc, MI., 67, died September 24, 2023, at his home in Sault Sainte Marie. Chuck was born on May 5, 1956, in Dearborn, MI, to Charles J. and Nancy M. Kimber. Chuck was an avid auto enthusiast his whole life. He enjoyed building cars and later buying and driving cars, motorcycles and trucks he particularly liked. Chuck made many friends over the years working for Genesse Bank in Flint, Applegate Chevrolet in Flint, Superior Pontiac-Cadillac in Flint, and Alma Chevrolet - Buick in Alma before retiring in 2018. Chuck loved to spend time on his boat in Manistee with friends and family. He had a love for the water, later buying a home on a lake with a pontoon boat and giving his grandchildren tubing rides. Chuck is survived by his son Trevor and wife Kim of Sault Sainte Marie and cherished his time with his two grandchildren Reagan and Ethan. Also surviving are his sister, Karen Powers (Grant) of Grand Blanc; his brother, Robert of Colorado; nieces/nephews, Michael (Alyson) Powers, Nicole (Michael) Mineau, Lauren (Lee) Potter, Kris (April) Kimber, and Justin (Jessica) Kimber; and great nieces/nephews, Rebecca, Luke & Rachael Mineau; Ava, Kasen & Kodiak Kimber; and Felix Kimber. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nancy Kimber; and his friends and faithful K-9 companions Buster and Smokey. Chuck was a great father and grandfather. He was always around to spoil his family. Chuck could be found at most of his grandchildren's sporting and school events. He hated the cold but moved north to be by his family and spent countless hours at the ice rink watching figure skating and hockey. He loved spending the holidays with his grandchildren and taking them out to eat any chance he could. You could find him taking his dog Buster to Mc Donald's for a hamburger at least once a week. He loved to help his Daughter-in-law at her garden center, aptly named Kimber's, where he would greet customers and water the plants. At his request, no funeral service will be held.
