Dorothy Alleta Paquin

Dorothy Alleta Paquin, age 83, of Cedarville, Michigan, died unexpectedly at her home September 21, 2018. Dorothy was born on March 26, 1935 to Clarence Nelson and Bessie Amelia Matson (Campbell) in Flint, Michigan. Dorothy grew up in Flint and California traveling for her father’s electrician work. She came back to St. Ignace, Michigan, when she was a high school freshman and stayed for 4 years graduating from LaSalle High School in St. Ignace in 1953. As a freshman, Dorothy met C. Gerald Paquin at a football game and they were inseparable all through high school. They married on June 20, 1953 shortly after high school graduation. They started their family in St, Ignace and then moved to Three Rivers, Kalkaska, and then to Cedarville where they lived permanently. Charles Gerald Paquin died September 6, 2006. Dorothy liked to read, spend time with her kids, grandchildren, and dogs and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Charles “Butch” Paquin of Cedarville, John (Candy Bailey) Paquin of Clinton, Michigan; daughters, Judith (Lyle) Landreville of Maple Lake, Minnesota, Sonja (David) Duncan of Cedarville, and Nicole (Jeff) Rolland of Clinton; grandchildren; Mark (Heather) Paquin, Steven Paquin, Drew (Lara) Paquin, C.J. Paquin, Trey Paquin, Erin Paquin, Erika Paquin, Alex Paquin, James Paquin, David Landreville, Angela Landreville, Keith Landreville, Jason (Lexie) Duncan, Jordan (Sara) Duncan, Jessica Duncan, Joseph (Bree) Duncan, Jeffrey (Danielle) Rolland, Nicholas Rolland, and Alexia Rolland; great-grandchildren, Emma Adams, Avery Adams, Chase Landreville, Aidan Paquin, Parker Paquin, Damon Paquin, Elenor Duncan, Jaxon Duncan, Grant Duncan, Carson Duncan, Blare Duncan, Charlie Duncan, and Ava Rolland; and sister, Judith (Tom) Klasell of Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; and daughter, Mary Beth Paquin. Services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 217 North M-129 Cedarville, Michigan. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. and Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 P.M. Memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Clark Township Ambulance Fund.
