Frances Louise (Lindberg) Shoberg

Frances Louise (Lindberg) Shoberg, age 95, of Cedarville, Michigan, died on March 12, 2026, at Cedar Cove Assisted Living in Cedarville. She was born on February 17, 1931, in Hessel, Michigan, to Albert and Hilma (Ehle) Lindberg. Frances was born and raised in Hessel, where she attended the Hessel School House and later graduated from Cedarville High School with the class of 1949. Following her graduation, she continued her education at Lake Superior State University. Frances devoted her life to caring for her home and family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with love, dedication, and quiet strength. She created a warm and welcoming home, and her care and guidance left a lasting impact on those she loved. Frances was a devoted member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Cedarville. Her faith was an important part of her life and provided her with comfort, strength, and a sense of community. Frances lived a life filled with adventure, creativity, and deep appreciation for the simple joys around her. During the time her husband Gary served in the United States Coast Guard, she spent time living on a lighthouse in Maine, an experience that remained a cherished and unique chapter of her life. She enjoyed fishing trips throughout Ontario, Canada, where she found both relaxation and happiness in nature. Frances also treasured time spent in Palm Harbor, Florida, where she could often be found walking along the beach, collecting shells, and soaking in the beauty of the shoreline. Frances was a gifted and creative spirit, she loved painting, drawing, and exploring various artistic endeavors. Her creativity was matched by her quiet love for reading, and she could often be found with a good book in hand. She found joy in both expression and reflection, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, curiosity, and gentle kindness. Frances is survived by her children, Linda (Dale) Williams of Cedarville, Meri (Steve) Dresbach of Hessel, and Bruce (Debbie) Shoberg of Cedarville; grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Polstin, Victoria (Jeremy) Sherland, Greg (Maria) Goetz, Andy Graziano, Chad Williams, Keith Williams, Vicki Mayer, and their families; great-grandchildren, Charlie Polstin, Gavin Goetz, and Myah Goetz; siblings, Ireta Vaught, Helen Skyzypczek, Sally (Norm) Smale, and Mary (Ron) Hill, all of Cedarville, and Chuck (Jenny) Lindberg of Franklin, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Betty Lindberg. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; granddaughter, Christie Goetz ; parents, Albert and Hilma; and brother, Ernest Lindberg. Per Frances’ wishes, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances’ honor may be made to the Clark Township Fire Department, 212 S.
