Jack Hoath

Edmund John (Jack) Hoath left his mortal body behind and went to heaven on September 26, 2015. Jack lived his life to the fullest. From the time he was a little boy he loved fast cars and working on engines. He could fix anything that had moving parts. His cars always had modified engines that were made to go faster. Jack raced cars competitively in his 20s and 30s in the #98 car. Jack continued to enjoy cars and engine repair throughout his life. After graduating from Sault High School in 1946, Jack did different kinds of jobs throughout his work career including road construction, mechanic, director of Emma Nason Children's Home, and had his own business, Hoath Chain Saw. Jack had a strong Christian faith and lived biblical principles without compromise. Jack worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He had a soft heart and was a lot of fun to be around. No matter how serious a situation would be, Jack could make a funny rhyming comment to lighten the moment. Jack will be enjoying his new, imperishable body in heaven. In his new home, he will never be sick or tired physically, and most remarkably, he will never struggle to hear conversations again. Jack is survived by Lois, his wife of 67 years; children, Brenda (Tom) Benedict, Kathy Hoath (Bruce Waggoner), Tim (Linda) Hoath, and Susie (Roger) Schlehuber. He leaves 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Roy & Liz Hoath; sister, Linda & Tom Crimin and in- laws-Keith & Joanne Erickson and Charles Erickson. Jack was pre-deceased by a son, John Robert, grandson Scott Brazil, his parents, Roy and Thelma Hoath, three sisters, MaryLou Heikkinen, Phyllis Hall, and Darlene Allen. Jack talked about his funeral before he died and asked that we tell you he said "I'll be waiting for you all in heaven". Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 4 to 7 pm at C. S. Mulder Funeral Home, 4591 S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11 am at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home.
