Margaret Ann Coveyou

Margaret Ann "Peggy" Coveyou, age 95, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died December 4, 2021, at Mackinac Straits Hospital. She was born April 21, 1926, in Hessel, Michigan to Frank and Anna (LaRocque) Law. In 1928 the family moved to St. Ignace where Peggy lived the rest of her entire life raising her family and working. Peggy attended the Ursuline Academy and was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. She met her husband Norbert "Chunky" Coveyou after WWII and they married June 1, 1946. She worked for JFB Manufacturing from 1973 until they closed. She then worked for Community Action for 12 years delivering meals and taking the elderly to their appointments and grocery shopping. Prior to her job at JFB she worked many summers working as a waitress in several different restaurants. Peggy always enjoyed socializing and having her family around telling many stories of the family history. Peggy loved to play Bingo, Keno, cribbage and listen to her "old music" especially Ray Price being her favorite. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and caring for her little dog Cheyenne. Peggy is survived by her 9 children. Tony and Theresa Coveyou of Belleville, Illinois; Trudy Wise of Fort Lupton, Colorado; Candy and Rick Boston of St. Ignace; Tracy and Kathy Coveyou of Porterfield, Wisconsin; Rosilee and Bob Livingston of St. Ignace; Tom and Cathy Coveyou of St. Ignace; Mary K and Rudy Hennekes of St. Ignace; Carolyn and Ed Motz of Kremmling, Colorado; and Dan and Rhonda Coveyou of Ottawa, Illinois. She is also survived by her 27 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren with whom she always showed great interest in visiting with them and knowing all about their lives. In addition she is survived by a sister Pat Ivey of Georgia, sister-in-law, Eleanor Fitzpatrick, and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Norbert, parents Frank and Anna Law, a sister Mary Becker, and brothers Dean and Glen Law.
