Margary Ann Perkins

Margary Ann Perkins, age 81, of Cedarville, Michigan passed away peacefully Saturday evening, May 5, 2012 at her home. Margie was born on June 30, 1930 in Howell, Michigan to Howard and Hazel (Kuehn) Canfield of Fowlerville, Michigan. She graduated from Fowlerville High School in June of 1947. On Novemebr 10, 1950, she married Claude Albert Perkins and they were married for 46 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hessel, Michigan. Margie deeply loved her family...each child, grandchild and great grandchild held a special place in her heart and brought joy to her life. She was an amazing decorator of cakes of all kinds for over 50 years. She was a cook at the Les Cheneaux Community Schools in Cedarville, Michigan. Margie also loved going to her little church in Hessel, Michigan and she loved her church family. She enjoyed shopping at resale stores, spending time with friends and family, cooking and baking in her kitchen, watching the Food Network channels on TV and reading good books. She loved her dog Perky, who was a wonderful companion for her after her beloved husband passed away in May of 1997. Margie is survived by five children: Norman Perkins and wife, Marcia of Cedarville, MI and their children: Jason (Karen) and Hilary (Justin), Laurence (Larry) Perkins and wife Candy of Cedarville, MI and their children: Jennifer (Scott), Andrew (Michella), Michael (Heather), and Nicholas (Becka), Timothy (Tim) Perkins and wife, Holly of Cedarville, MI and their children: Sarah (Scott), Ben, Jeremy (Monica), and Taylor, Claudia Brood and husband Wayne of Cedarville, MI and their children: Norman (April), Judson (engaged to Tonya Peterson), and Katrina Bigelow(Jeremy), and Dawn (Freddie) Milton of Alta Vista, VA and their children: Mandy Arthur (Jonathan), Paula Fulsom, Freddie Jr., and Shelly Briggs (Brian); and 29 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother: Harold Canfield and wife Jean of Perry, MI; and a sister: Dortha "Dottie" Knodle and husband Donald of Springhill, FL. Margie was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Hazel Canfield, her husband: Claude Perkins; a brother-in-law: Gerald Brown and a great grandson: Daniel Perkins. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the First Union Church in Cedarville, MI with Pastor Bob Shaw officiating. Friends may gather at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be left to the Lighthouse Baptist Church or the Care Net Pregnancy Center.
