Patricia A. (Watchowski) Paul

Patricia A. Paul went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving daughters on Sunday November 10, 2013 at Hospice House of the EUP. Pat was born on March 15, 1934 in Kinde, Michigan the daughter of George and Sophie Watchowski. She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1952. She moved to Sault Ste. Marie at age 18 after being transferred by the Gamble Store, she then worked as a secretary at Soo Tech. She married Roger Paul on October 16, 1954 and was a devoted wife and mother for the next several years. She eventually returned to work first at McKee Insurance Agency and later at the Adams Insurance Agency and finally worked as an admitting clerk at War Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2001. Pat had been a very active member of the Gazelles having composed photos of all of the past Exalted Rulers of Elks Lodge #552. She enjoyed serving as Vice President of the Brimley Historical Society and was also active with the Wheels of History Museum and the Train Depot. Pat was vital with the Brimley 4th of July Flea Market. She was a hard worker, devoted mother, friend and proud of her two daughters. She always kept in touch with those far away thru letter writing and was always praised for her beautiful penmanship. She enjoyed sewing, reading, garage sales and bazaars and blueberry picking in the Brimley area, and was famous for her Blueberry Jam. Kind hearted, well dressed and very seldom seen without her hair done up and her lipstick on. Pat loved animals and enjoyed feeding the birds and deer. She cared for many stray animals and leaves behind her own furry family of one dog and two cats. She enjoyed living on Lake Superior and watching the ships pass by her home. Surviving are her two daughters Kathleen (Charles) Albon and DeLynn H. Paul both of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; 2 Sisters-in-law Virginia Watchowski of Bad Axe, Michigan and Lois Gibson of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania. 4 nieces Debra (Doug) Keyworth of Elkton, MI; Pamela (Robert) Linton of Citrus Springs, FL; Sharon Sweet of Pompano Beach, FL; Nancy (James) Long of Fairgrove, MI. A Nephew Curtis (Lynda) Watchowski, of Ubly, MI and several great Nieces and Nephews. Patricia is predeceased by her parents George and Sophie Watchowski; a brother Ernest Watchowski and her former husband Roger W. Paul. Visitation will be held 4:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday November 13, 2013 at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am Thursday November 14, 2013 at St. Mary’s ProCathedral Church with Father Sebastian Kavumkal as Celebrant.
