Robert William Miller

Robert William Miller, age 88, of Cedarville, Michigan, died on September 18, 2018 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on June 15, 1930 in Pickford, Michigan, to Earl Henry and Buelah Pearl (Wilson) Miller. Bob grew up on the family farm on the north side of Pickford. He started working at a young age, running a thrashing machine for the Pickford farmers. He joined the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a Highway Mail Contractor, Logging, Real Estate, Mackinac County Sheriff’s Deputy, and in his later years was a Taxi Driver for many people. He met Teresa Anne Kramen and they were married on October 20, 1956 at Our Lady of The Snow in Hessel, Michigan. They started raising their family in Hessel Michigan. Bob was a member of Lions Club, Moose Lodge, VFW where he volunteered as Santa for many years, and he held offices in the Highway Contractor Association. Bob loved to play cards; euchre, cribbage, and poker. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching sports, talking politics, and western movies. He liked to watch and feed the birds, deer, and neighborhood dogs. Bob is survived by his children, Kathy (Ron) Trepkowski of Essexville, Michigan, Bob (Landa) Miller of Hessel, Michigan and Marie Gregg of Cedarville, Michigan; grandchildren, Paul (Erin) Trepkowski, James (Liz) Trepkowski, Teresa (Kurt) Cunningham, Andrew Trepkowski, Heather (Oscar) Ortiz, Brad (Yvonne) Miller, Rebecca (Tony) Gregg, and Christina Gregg; great-grandchildren, Payton, Emily, Nora, Harlow, Kylar, and Braxten; sisters, Margaret (Frank) Clark of Muskegon, Michigan, Lynda (Ron) Lawlor of Umatilla, Florida; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Miller of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Marion Miller of Pickford, Michigan; and brother-in-law, Roy Dutcher of Hessel, Michigan. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Buelah Miller; his wife, Teresa Miller; in-laws, Henry and Mary Kramen; son-in-law, Larry Gregg; brothers, Ronald Miller, Jim Miller, Royce Miller and Willard Miller; sisters-in-laws Bertha Bawks, Ellen Dutcher and Francis Dutcher; and brother-in-law, Frank Karmen. Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at R. Galer Funeral Home in Pickford. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 A.M.
