Ruth Ann Gregg

Ruth Ann Gregg, age 67, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, January 15, 2013 at War Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born October 9, 1945 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the late Michael and Dorothy (Haynes) McCarron. She was a 1963 graduate of Alliance High School in Alliance, Ohio. She married William Gregg on June 15, 1985 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Ruth retired from the Department of Human Services in 1987 to be a stay at home mom, she rejoined years later and retired from Marquette General Home Health and Hospice. She enjoyed going to the Casino to play on her "beetle" slot machine. She also enjoyed attending concerts. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with the family. Ruth is survived by her husband: William J. Gregg of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; two daughters: Donna (Howard) Alexander and Christina (Lee) Heck both of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; five grandchildren: Tim (Sheila) Luoma, Douglas (Lisa) Alexander, Raelene Alexander, Steven Alexander, and Jessica (Joe) Weese; and four great grandchildren: Alexis, Luoma, Alyssa Alexander, Robert Allard, and Joe Allard. She is also survived by a sister: Maureen (Dennis) Hallesy of Brimley, MI; a brother: Raymond (Mary Kay) McCarron of Alliance, OH; her step-father: David Shaw, Sr. of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; a step-brother: David (Jan) Shaw, Jr. of Ohio; her brothers and sisters in law: Peg Drouse of Bay City, MI, Bonnie Johnson of Florida, Kathy Gregg of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Roxy (Frank) Bourdeau of Alpena, MI, Linda Gregg of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Rick Gregg of Wisconsin, Bob (Judy) Gregg of Bellaire, MI, Tom Gregg of Wisconsin, and Tim (Kathy) Gregg of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ruth is preceded in death by parents: Michael McCarron and Dorothy (Haynes) Shaw, two brothers: Frederick McCarron and Robert McCarron. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2013 at C. S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Lockhart officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be later this spring at Donaldson Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Chippewa County Dialysis Unit.
