Victoria Marie Wynn

Victoria Marie Wynn, age 87, of Goetzville, Michigan, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born June 14, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, to Henry John and Lorene Louise (Waybrant) Wojnaroski. Vicky’s family moved to Goetzville when she was a young child. She graduated from DeTour High School as Valedictorian of her class. On November 2, 1946, she married Edward G. Wynn in Sault Ste. Marie. They moved to Flint, Michigan where they lived for 33 years. They raised their family and Vicky completed her Registered Nursing degree at age 40. She worked in public health, as a visiting nurse, and in nursing homes. Edward worked for General Motors. They returned to Goetzville in the early 1980’s help care for her parents. Vicky was a member of the AmVets Auxiliary in Raber, Hurley School of Nursing in Flint Alumni, and Raber Senior Citizens. Vicky worked as a volunteer for Chippewa County Hospice in the early years of hospice. Vicky was an avid reader and Detroit Tiger Fan. She enjoyed watching television, completing word search puzzles, and baking for family gatherings. She also enjoyed the birds and flowers in her yard. Vicky also donated blood regularly, donating over seven gallons during her lifetime. Vicky is survived by her daughters, Judith Vorhies of Durand, Michigan, Janet (Bill) Daniels of Mt. Morris, Michigan, Luanne (Frank Dumback) Gruno of Goetzville; daughter-in-law, Sue Wynn of Flint; grandchildren, Kari (Dana) Sherry, Andy (Sara) Wynn, Ronald “Chip” (fiancé Cher) Vorhies, Robert (Deona) Vorhies, Sheri Vorhies, Ryan (Kami) Vorhies, William (Stacey) Daniels III, Michael Daniels, Edward Gruno, and Adam Gruno; great-grandchildren, Everett, Isaac, Jackson, Amelia, Brandon, Arianna, Robert II, Isiah, Noah, Jonathan, Blake, Aleena, Jaden, Grace, and Mya; sisters-in-law, Virginia Wojnaroski of Gladstone, Michigan, and Jackie Wojnaroski of Gaylord, Michigan; brother-in-law; Norman Korte of Wallace, Michigan; and special caregiver, Jay Gruno. Vicky was preceded in death by husband, Edward G. Wynn; son, Ronald Wynn; parents, Henry and Lorene Wojnaroski; brothers, Henry Wojnaroski Jr. and Wilbert Wojnaroski; and sisters, Carol Korte and Wilma Schmitigal. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at R. Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S. M-129 in Pickford, Michigan. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 20 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home and be followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in North Raber Cemetery in Raber Township, Michigan in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to Chippewa County Animal Shelter, 3360 S. Mackinac Trail, Sault Ste.
